Most book applications can be completed, from purchase order to delivery, in two to three weeks. However, we understand that some projects require a much shorter delivery schedule. We will be happy to accommodate you if such a need arises provided the following guidelines are satisfied:
Establish a Strict Timeline
Corrections to files and proofs can eat up several days of a book production schedule. Minimize delays by ensuring all parties agree to deadlines for file submission, delivery of proofs and return of proofs. If you’re comfortable working with them, electronic proofing can shave days from your production schedule.
Submit Clean Files
File problems such as missing fonts, low-resolution graphics and incorrect color space can set back already-tight production schedules. If you send PDF files, be sure all fonts are embedded. Source files such as photos should be of sufficient resolution and converted from RGB to CMYK color. Layout files should include appropriate trim margins and bleeds.
Select In-Stock Materials
At Delta Printing Solutions, we carry several “house” paper stocks to suit the needs of most book applications. Selecting a house stock eliminates the extra time and cost of ordering a special paper.
