In today's business environment, it's important to partner with companies committed to environmental preservation and eco-friendly business practices.
At Delta Printing Solutions, we demonstrate a deep commitment to responsible management of our natural resources by offering environmentally-conscious manufacturing solutions.
As part of this commitment, Delta has recently earned Chain of Custody certification by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world's forests. By ensuring only eco-friendly processes and materials are used in the manufacture of virgin and recycled paper stocks, FSC chain-of-custody certification gives you peace-of-mind that your materials have been processed in a responsible manner.
The FSC Certification Process
FSC chain-of-custody certification is a detailed process designed to ensure responsible management of forests and forest products. Certification is conducted by FSC-accredited, third-party certifiers who assess forest management and manufacturing processes using FSC principles, criteria and regional standards.
Every step in the process is addressed from forest management activities, to chain-of-custody tracking, to a company's ability to track certified products throughout their inventory and distribution processes. The certification process also details how FSC materials and products must be stored and labeled by companies such as printers and paper suppliers.
What FSC Means to You
FSC certification allows products utilizing certified materials to bear the FSC label. Delta Printing Solutions customers’ who request that only FSC-certified paper be used for their products are entitled to use the FSC label. This not only allows products to be traced back to their certified source, but it represents a powerful environmental commitment to your customers.
The Advantage of Recycled Paper
Delta Printing Solutions offers you the option to use a 40% or 100% post-consumer recycled paper stock for your book projects. By using one ton of 100% recycled paper instead of virgin paper you save:
* 10,052 gallons of water
* 14 million BTU's of energy
* 1120 pounds of solid waste
* 2210 pounds of greenhouse gasses
In addition, recycled paper production generates 74% less air pollution, 35% less water pollution, and creates five times the number of jobs than producing paper from trees. Recycled paper also saves old-growth trees and native wildlife habitats and promotes forest eco-systems and biodiversity.
